If you’ve been through addiction treatment before and it asked you to accept a label, a program, or a single path to recovery that didn’t fit, this is a different starting point.
This work is grounded in Integrative Harm Reduction Psychotherapy (IHRP), a model developed by Dr. Andrew Tatarsky. It treats substance use and other compulsive behaviours as adaptive responses to pain, not as a disease to confess to or a moral failing to correct. There is no single acceptable outcome here. Abstinence, reduction, and stability are all legitimate goals. The work starts with where you actually are, not where a program says you should be.
Many people arrive here after 12-step didn’t work for them, or after being told there was something wrong with how they tried to get better. This space doesn’t ask you to identify as anything. We will explore what the substance or behaviour is doing for you, and how you can meet that need in a way that works for you.
